Critical Font Update

Windows XP just informed me of this "critical update":

Of course, I wasn't going to let something like THAT slide by without some investigation. Apparently, this "critical" problem has been acknowledged since December. The issue? The inclusion of a swastika symbol in the font. Microsoft issued an optional tool for removal of the symbol back in December. I'm curious why this is, only NOW, a "critical" update... There is a debate as to whether the swastika symbol should be "redeemed", considering its widespread use as a holy symbol pre-Nazi Germany. I guess we know where Microsoft stands on that issue.

Interestingly enough, along with the swastika, the Star of David has also been removed from the font. I guess Microsoft doesn't want to appear to "play favorites".
