The 23 Enigma
Today (August 23rd) is my mother's birthday (Happy Birthday, mom!). Growing up, my family constantly noticed the number 23 popping up everywhere, and we joked about it relating to my mom's birthday. At first I thought this was a spooky magical occurence.
Then, I decided it was probably just a case of coincidentally spotting a few instances, then deciding the number was everywhere - and noticing it more often.
Today, thanks to the magic of Wikipedia, I've learned that I shouldn't have been so dismissive about the whole 23 thing - it's a known phenomena called the 23 Enigma.
[Cue X-Files music.]
