Old School Gaming - Big Time
Ever wish you could play Super Mario Brothers with an 8 foot wide controller? Watch these two guys attempt it. Very amusing.

Oversleeping? Clocky to the rescue!
If you really have trouble getting up in the morning, you need Clocky! Clocky is an alarm clock that sits on your night table until you hit Snooze. Then it runs to a new hiding place in your room every day, and when the alarm goes off, you have to get out of bed to shut him up. This is the opposite of an idea I had recently - a clock that would crawl into bed with you when it's time to wake up, and it would annoy the hell out of you until you get out of bed. I was going to name it "AlarmDog" or "Alarnimal"

Tea.licio.us!
I have to second Jeff's recommendation of some good Adagio tea. If you like black tea, flavors tea, or oolong tea, you'll definitely want to check out what's brewing here. Not only will you find white tea and green tea, but you'll also be thrilled by their herbal tea and rooibos tea. If you want to drink lots of tea but still get lots of sleep, there's always decaf tea. And, of course, don't you need something from which to drink the tea, like teaware?
The Power of 112 Suns
The Solar Death Ray is so strong, it melts whatever unfortunate item happens to sit in its path... rubber duckies, Hootie and the Blowfish tapes, golfballs. To date, however, nothing has actually died in its beam. (Hey Jeff, is this some sort of record for most posts per day on Ridiculent?)
Soft tissue found in 70 million year old bone
Scientists have found soft tissue inside of a 70 million-year-old Tyrannosaurus Rex bone! They have found blood vessels, and hope to isolate proteins and perhaps DNA. Here's the story.
Life Imitates 80's Music Lyrics
Paula Abdul caught in a hit and run. Straight up. Ba-BUPpa bah bah buppa-buppa-BAH.
Cup of Tea?
Wouldn't a nice hot steaming cup of Tea be good right now? Maybe Black Tea or Green Tea? Perhaps some Herbal Tea? Adagio Tea can help you get your tea fix. Did I mention Ridiculent.com has a Google Page Rank of 4? Perhaps you're wondering why I bring that up. No real reason. Just enjoy some tea, won't you?

Flash Cry for Help
OK, first off, I do NOT think this is funny. I know this is normally a humor site, but this is not intended to be a humor post. This is truly disturbing, and I feel the need to share it, though it's a bit out of character for this site. Jeff Weise, the teenager who recently went on a shooting rampage in Minnesota, before turning the gun on himself, had previously created a Flash animation that eerily resembles what actually happened. The Smoking Gun has an article about it, with a link to the actual animation. On it's own, the animation is no more disturbing than any other amateur Flash animation (though the production quality is actually remarkably high) but taken in context, it's profoundly disturbing. Like many aspiring Flash animators, Weise has a profile on Newgrounds.com, where he went by the name of "Regret". There, he posted another animation called "Clown", which is also disturbing, in its own way.
Fo' my Firefox-Usin' Bitches
Pimpzilla is a bling-bling theme for your Firefox browser. Funny and just plain awesome. The scary part is that it's actually more usable than 99% of the other Firefox themes out there. Fo Shizzle. Props to vowe.

These Clarinets Go To Eleven
What's more awesome than Spinal Tap's "Big Bottom"? "Big Bottom" played by a quartet of bass clarinets. According to their press kit: ...the world's only original, composing band of four bass clarinetists [...] Edmund Welles invents and performs heavy chamber music, muzak for conspiracy theorists, songs of lunacy and purpose. Awesome.
Time Machine for sale!
Although bidding has ended for this item, whoever purchased it may decide to sell it again in the past, so you might have actually bought this already, in some alternate time line. If you have an eBay account, you've got to log in and read the Q&A. Interestingly, the buyer, goldenpalacecasino, "#1 Internet Casino", has bought a number of interesting things on eBay. They were the buyers of the grilled cheese sandwich with the Virgin Mary's likeness [story].

What if Blogger met OS X?
Imagine Google with Mac OSX's fish-eye icon view. Now stop imagining. Speaking about Google, this article at CNet does a nice job of putting the pieces together to speculate about what Google may be providing to customers in the future. It's nothing revolutionary, but finally there's a company that seems capable enough to pull it off.

Hammerman!
For absolutely no reason whatsoever: The Hammer Man opening theme[Update: Link fixed... RetroJunk.com apparently doesn't like direct links to its videos. That's OK, it's a fun site to poke around in anyway...]

Comic Book Guy Revealed!
The good news: The real name of The Simpsons' "Comic Book Guy" has been revealed. The bad news: His name is Jeff. There is no emoticon for what I'm feeling right now.
He probably helps old ladies cross the street, too
When there are two people - say, someone who is 80 and someone who is 58 - and one bed, it is simple courtesy for the younger to offer the bed to the elder, and perhaps to even sleep on the floor if there is no other alternative. This is generally not worthy of any special mention. Somehow, however, when it involves former U.S. presidents, it is news.

BBC Ordered: No More Crappy TV
Man, I wish something like this could happen in the U.S. (And yes, I know, there are plenty of things that suck about British TV like, say, the TV Tax).

The Adventures of Pink Five
Follow Stacy as she zooms through space in her X-Wing! In the first episode, Stacy need to cut the chatter at the Battle of Yavin. In the second episode, she follows "the new guy" and crashes on Dagobah. For best results, watch these fan flicks back-to-back.
QRIO Rocks!
Check out Sony's QRIO - it walks up stairs, it picks itself up if it falls, and it listens, understands, and talks! (although I wonder how much of that last part is for real)
The Polytron
I'm always freaked out by ads in "biotech" trade journals. I mean, they read just like ads in computer trade journals, but instead of talking about "debugging" and "productivity" and "code" and crap, they talk about doing horribly unnatural things to actual creatures or parts thereof. For Example...
