Baby Got Back

Here's a wonderful, if a little long, cover of Baby Got Back - and no, it's not the Richard Cheese version.

Happy Halloween!

Here's a blast from the past - a nice gallery of retro Halloween costumes. They just don't make 'em like this any more - which is probably a good thing! I remember wearing the Star Wars Gamorrean Guard costume one year, and I think my sister was a Care Bear that same year. Fun!

The Empire Strikes Back?

Actually, this is not a Star Wars post.

SBC Communications, a company formed as part of the breakup of Ma Bell, bought its former parent company, and has announced that the combined company will be changing its name to AT&T.

Doesn't this feel somehow sinister? It's like an empire returning from the ashes.

"Revenge of the Sith" DVD Easter Egg

Hey, we haven't had a Star Wars post in a long time! Check out the upcoming (Nov. 1) DVD Easter Egg update: don't click on that link! It now points to some porn thing!

Coolest Optical Illusion Ever

This will really mess with your head - even more than the rotating snake illusion.

If you look at this picture up close (click the picture to enlarge it), it looks a bit blurry but it quite obviously depicts an angry man on the left and a calm woman on the right. But if you back away from the picture - the faces switch places! There is more info about the illusion here.

Simply The Best?

I'm not totally sure what's going on in this video, but it involves 8 of the worst singers I've ever heard rocking out in a packed soccer/football stadium. It's like William Hung x 8. Check it out. Especially the fourth guy... "Give me a lifetime of pwomises, and a world of dweams". It's totally suck-tastic!

A lotta good this does us now...

"Bush would lose an election if held this year". Except this isn't very helpful when we're not holding a presidential election this year. Where the hell were you people a year ago?

Horseplay in Washington

[James Michael Tait,] identified in court papers as taking part in an incident in which a friend died after having sex with a horse on an Enumclaw farm was charged Tuesday with having trespassed on the farm.

Why just a trespassing charge?

Tait can't be charged with bestiality. Washington is one of 17 states that permit bestiality.

Round up the chillun', maw, we movin' to Seeeeyattle!

Quick Question

Who buys bacon from Amazon.com?

"How do we know they didn't invent it in the first place?"

The Air Force is testing Transparent Aluminum. Scotty would be proud.

And, of course, the corresponding Wikipedia entry is up-to-date.

The Triple Inchophone

The White Stripes have semi-inadvertently created one of the most highly sought-after indie/hipster-street-cred generating collector's items - the Triple Inchophone. The Triple Inchophone plays 3 inch records and there are only 400 of them in the world. Neat!

Camel Toads?

Horse Drawn Carriage Return Rentals?

OK, this is kind of wacky. Try to follow me... Some company that provides horse drawn carriage rides (and similar things) created a web site that appears to be attempting to "spam" search engines in some weird, misguided way. Therefore, there are links within the site that use every possible term that includes the word "carriage".

You can rent them for:
Unix Carriage Return
Visual Basic Carriage Return
ASP Carriage Return
Perl Carriage Return
Carriage Return in Java
Carriage Return HTML
SQL Carriage Return

And, of course:

Mis Carriage

PEZ MP3

While I have a big ol' iPod and love it dearly, I've been looking for a cheap player that can handle WMA subscription files. One possible consideration was the Dell Ditty, which looks vaguely like a PEZ dispenser. But why buy a music player that looks kind of like a PEZ dispenser when you can now get one that REALLY looks like a PEZ dispenser.

The PEZ MP3 is now officially for sale,
and, yes, the design is actually licensed all legal-wise by the PEZ Company.
