Item 4

Someone posted the above image on This Is Broken. Looks like someone forgot to finish editing the sign-maker's mockup, right?

Actually, no. "Item 4" is the actual name of a common type of filler material used when making roads.

Now that's REALLY broken.

The iGallop

For years, Brookstone has marketed thinly veiled female sex toys as back massagers. Now they're marketing them as abdominal exercise machines. You're not fooling anyone, guys.

Dane Cook Machinima

A long time ago, the now defunct Brunching Shuttlecocks published the "Geek Hierarchy". Apparently, it needs to be updated for 2006 because there is definitely a slot on there for people who make Halo 2 machinima videos set to Dane Cook standup routines. There are a least 5 videos of this nature on YouTube, including:

Parking Structure
Punching Sharks
The BK Lounge
Car Accident

By far the funniest of all though is the Creepy Guy at Work routine, embedded here for your pleasure:

I'd review the videos more thoroughly, but I'm pretty sure "Guy who reviews YouTube videos of Halo 2 based Machinima of Dane Cook comedy routines" would be even further down Geek Hierarchy 3.0.

What I want to know is, did he microwave it?

There are so many questions I can come up with regarding this story. For instance, how much liquid can one of those things hold? Why would a woman find it necessary to use one anyway? And did the clerk actually microwave it, even though he thought it was real?

Hacking Starbucks

Some clever caffeine fiends have figured out that:

A.) A Starbucks iced latte costs $3.50
B.) A Starbucks iced latte consists of 3 shots of espresso, ice, and milk.
C.) A triple shot of espresso over ice, into which you insert free milk from the "condiment bar" will set you back only $2.05.

Some employees are hopping mad over this development and claim that people are ripping Starbucks off, referring to this DIY drink as a "Ghetto Latte". At $3.50 for cup of iced joe - $1.45 of which is apparently for about 2 ounces of milk - who's ripping who off?

iBelieve

I actually saw someone wearing one of these the other day, without a shred of irony (I was raised Catholic - I know's me a true believer when I sees one), and I just had to do a web search for it to make sure I wasn't hallucinating. Alas, I was not.

Lore Sjöberg Blogs about Blogs

Lore Sjöberg, of the hilarious but long defunct Brunching Shuttlecocks has written a very funny article about so-called "blogs", including "ultimate blog posts" for various blogs. Bloggity blog blog blog.

Tea Partay

We may be vanilla, but our labs are chocolate!

This one goes out out to my North Shore homies. Yeah, it's a "viral ad" for Smirnoff, but it's funny as hell!
